13June 2010 - Thanks...

As mentioned in the previous news article, the EPS Environmental mountaineering team successfully conquered the highest mountain in Ireland.  Our accounts department did a quick calculation of the amount raised on Friday morning before setting off down south and managed to pick up a huge blank cheque on the way. 12June 2010 - Carrauntoohil

On Friday the 11th June the EPS Environmental mountaineering team fully equipped but for a pair of walking boots which was later delivered by air (thanks Quinn’s!!), set off for Killarney.  Like a scene out of the Wacky Races several car loads (and one fun bus) departed Cookstown.  Hundreds of miles later we arrived at our destination were the intention was to meet that evening and discuss the walking route.  Instead it was spent consuming food and drink as there were no maps to talk about the route (did Laura remember…Read full article

1June 2010 - Slieve Donard

“Where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea…”             Percy French Ok so this is the last of the practice walks before the big one down in Kerry; the highest peak in Northern Ireland so a good bench mark for the walk on the 12th June.  The weather was perfect with a bit of a breeze so all set off from Donard car-park in good spirits. 17May 2010 - Street Collection

On May 14th, seven employees of EPS Environmental spent their Friday afternoon fundraising by means of a street collection in order to help them reach their target of £10,000.  After a slow start, the generosity of the people in Cookstown started to shine through and it wasn’t long until there was a steady flow of money dropping into the collection boxes.  A couple of hours passed and there were a few sore feet and tired arms, so they decided to have a quick pit-stop and cup of tea before returning to their locations. …Read full article

10May 2010 - Gortin Glens

On Sunday the 9th May the EPS Environmental mountaineering team ventured on to the hills and valleys of the picturesque Gortin Glens to complete a mast to mast challenge.  This being the second of the warm up walks the team was upbeat at the proposed light 11km walk!  With several, what can only be described as almost muscular legs on show, the team headed for the hills around 10.45 am. A word of thanks. 11March 2010 - Registration accepted

It’s official!  The WaterAid Munro Challenge team registration was successfully completed and accepted.  EPS Environmental has entered two teams to climb Carrauntoohil in the south western region of Ireland.  Who goes in what team has yet to be decided (internal company politics do exist you know!) and the planned climb and route has yet to be finalized, although as the mountain is rated ‘difficult’ each team is advised to take a pre-planned recommended route.  Thankfully this route was considered by …Read full article
